The wait for the NFL’s punishment on new Browns RB Kareem Hunt is finally over. After weeks of speculation, areport from ESPN’s Adam Schefterdeclares the league is suspending Hunt for the first 8 games of the 2019 NFL season.
The suspension stems from his widely publicized domestic battery incident from a Cleveland hotel in 2018. Hunt was captured on video shoving and kicking a young woman in his entourage.
The Kansas City Chiefs quickly released the 2017 NFL rushing champ as a result. Cleveland signed Hunt after the season ended to some controversy, knowing a suspension of some length was imminent from the league.
